AUSTIN (Austin American-Statesman) – Whole Foods Market Inc. is planning one of its largest hometown expansions in Bee Cave and Southwest Austin in the next two years.

The natural food grocer plans to add stores at the Hill County Galleria on Texas 71 and RM 620, and at the Arbor Trails Shopping Center at South MoPac Blvd. and William Cannon Dr. The Bee Cave store will be constructed near Dick’s Sporting Goods and is scheduled to open in spring 2012 while the southwest Austin store is slated to open in fall 2011.

Both stores will be approximately 35,000 sf and will employ 150 to 200.

The company also plans to open a north Austin store to replace a store in the Gateway Shopping Center in 2013.

There are currently two Whole Foods stores in the Austin area.
