AUSTIN (Austin American-Statesman) –The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization board approved the Texas 45 Southwest tollway yesterday along with other transportation projects.

The 3.6-mile, $93 million road, which would connect FM 1626 and MoPac Blvd., is part of a $28.6 billion plan that includes roads, rail, buses, sidewalks and bikeways.

The project will affect Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop and Caldwell counties; however, the plan can be amended at any time.

Carlos Lopez, the Department of Transportation’s Austin district engineer, said the start date on the 2035 plan would depend on funding and environmental clearance.
